Feast on Franklin/OctoberFest at Moveable Feast (Geneva)

Moveable Feast, Geneva, IllinoisWe just received a note from Moveable Feast in Geneva regarding a few events they would like our readers to start salivating about. They are celebrating their ten year anniversary and would like you to join them for some live music and incredible meals. From the message:

Moveable Feast announces a celebration of ten years of love for food and community with Feast on Franklin, a set of block party suppers throughout the summer and fall. Each supper will feature a three course menu featuring local, seasonal ingredients. The dinner will be picnic style dining in the heart of downtown Geneva at 321 Franklin Street.

The dates are scheduled for July 16 [too late for that one, sorry!], August 20 and September 17. Tickets for the Block party suppers cost $65, excluding tax and gratuity. Tickets can be purchased at the store on 321 Franklin Street or by phone at (630) 845-3287.

On Saturday, October 10, Moveable Feast will host OctoberFest for the entire family. The grills will be going from 12pm to 4pm serving up some of the best fall comfort foods. OctoberFest costs $15 per person.

Moveable Feast is owned by husband and wife team Matt and Kim Lennert. The Moveable Feast mission is to help everyone celebrate life through great food and the joy of entertaining. They consistently dedicate their food and passion to the community that makes their success possible.

Their food has become well known in the Tri-Cities as well as their reputation for great service and artistic vision. Their Deeply Fudgey Brownies received high honors in 2005 when they were named one of Oprah Winfrey’s favorite things.

  • Watermelon & Bellwether Farms sheep milk pepato cheese bites
  • House cured bacon, lettuce & tomato crostini with garlic aioli
  • Beef tenderloin with Wind UP coffee and ancho rub served with a zippy tomato salsa
  • Arugula & rainbow chard salad with grilled peaches & blueberries
  • Corn pudding
  • Herb biscuits served with sweet butter
  • White peaches poached in lemon verbena syrup over Graham’s vanilla ice cream served with chocolate sables
  • Iced tea with lime syrup

  • Sweet melon wrapped in local ham & arugula drizzled in artisan honey
  • Sharp cheddar crackers & radish butter
  • Smoked pork chops with beer mop sauce
  • Roasted tomato, corn and potato salad with spinach

  • Fresh farm greens & vegetables in green goddess dressing
  • Fresh corn bread and sweet butter
  • Apple & Challah bread pudding with caramel sauce & salted peanuts
