Unofficial Swedish Days Music Guide 2009

River Lane Pub beer gardenWe finally were able to visit Swedish Days in Geneva for a little bit last night. The temp had cooled to under 90 degrees, and the cup of lemon ice from Graham's helped as well. Tin Horse was getting the crowd going with their Southern Fried rock. Gaggles of young adults were filtering up and down Third St., popping balloons and texting their friends across the street. Business as usual for the annual summer festival.

Earlier this week we posted the official Swedish Days entertainment lineup. Now we offer our unofficial guide to live music in downtown Geneva this weekend.

River Lane Pub (65 N River Ln, Geneva)
The River Lane Pub has erected a huge beer garden and live music stage (pictured above) in the parking lot just north of their location just north of State Street on the west side of the Fox River. It looks like there is an $8 admission to the garden, which features a big barbecue grill and a Miller beer wagon courtesy of Euclid Beverage. Here is the lineup for the weekend:

The Gratto
(207 S. Third Street, Geneva)
Located in the former Chianti's space, The Gratto continues the Swedish Days tradition of hosting live music in their beer garden behind the restaurant.

Sergio's Cantina
(30 W State St., Geneva)
Formerly Potter's Place, Sergio's has a little outside seating area where they will offer the following entertainment:

The Little Owl/Flagstone Pub
(101 West State Street, Geneva)
This business is a Geneva institution. Although The Little Owl has been in operation since 1920 (!) the Flagstone Pub is a recent addition. It is a fabulous pub with a great bar and really good food. Here are the bands playing at Flagstone:
